The Plant Sap & Soil Nitrate Meter is a compact size nitrate ion meter using Horiba’s original flat sensor.

The Plant Sap & Soil Nitrate Meter is a Japanese manufactured specialist ion meter featuring flat sensor technology which allows measurement of a very small volume of liquid. This makes it ideal for plant sap measurements. With simple calibration and operation, this pocket size meter allows easy nitrate ion measurement in various applications.

PACK INCLUDES:

  • Meter
  • Sensor
  • Storage case
  • Batteries
  • Calibration solutions (150 ppm and 2000 ppm)
  • Pipette
  • Sampling sheets x 5
  • Full instruction manual

BENEFITS:

  • Measurement range NO3– : 62 – 6200 ppm, NO3– -N : 14 –1400 ppm.
  • Display range 0 – 9900 ppm.
  • Selectable analysis of Nitrate or Nitrate-Nitrogen.
  • Waterproof.
  • 3 sampling methods available depending on sample volume.
  • Automatic temperature compensation.
  • Auto hold and auto power off.
  • Replacement sensor available.
  • Note: Published crop specific data is limited as this is a relatively new research area. Contact NTS for the NTS Sap Testing Procedure for currently available ideal levels. Comparing data in your crop from season to season while noting yields and insect pressure, as well as making comparisons on sap nutrient status between healthy and suboptimal crops/plants, and comparing young and old leaves, can provide valuable information for fine tuning fertiliser inputs and correcting imbalances.

ACCESSORIES AVAILABLE:

  • Replacement Sensor - Product Code: METERN
  • Nitrate Standard Solution Set - Product Code: METNITSOL

OPERATING GUIDE Perform a 2 point calibration following the instructions in the instruction manual. Recalibrate before each use (once only if performing several measurements).

SAP TESTING PROCEDURE Apply a few drops of freshly extracted sap solution to the electrode chamber ensuring that both electrodes are covered with solution. Wait for a stable reading. Alternatively apply sap to the paper sampling sheet, ensuring the sheet covers both electrodes.

Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Please contact us for more information.

Note : This unit does not measure ammonium nitrogen (i.e. nitrogen in the ammonium form or nitrogen in plant proteins). This meter can also be used to measure soil nitrate levels. Keep the electrode clean by rinsing with distilled water after use. When not in use keep the unit free from dust inside the storage pouch with the plastic cap in place. Warning : The electrode chamber has a thin glass backing – take care while using and cleaning to avoid damage.

Online orders are only available within Australia. For international orders, please contact us.
